Nepal-Philippines sign Air Services AgreementFriday - 19th November 2004 |
| Nepal and the Philippines signed on Air Services Agreement (ASA) to allow direct flights between the two countries. As per the agreement, the designated airlines from both the countries can use up to 2500 air seats and carry 200 tones of cargo per week. However, the airlines can operate only three flights a week to anintermediary point (Bangkok) from where they can carry up to 40 passengers per flight, officials said. Under Secretary at the Department of Transportation of the Philippinesgovernment, Edwards Harun Pagusan, and Nepal's Minister of State for Science and Technology, Mrs. Pratibha Rana, signed on the ASA and a Memorandum of Understanding November 18 on behalf of the Philippines and Nepal government respectively. After signing of the agreements, Pilipino Under Secretary, Pagasun, said the agreement would help promote tourism in Nepal and enhance cordial relations between the two countries. |
