Blockade has no effect on movement of tourist buses
Monday - 27th December 2004 |
Despite the Maoist blockade, the movement of tourist buses on the major highways of the country has been normal and hassle-free, a press release from Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) said.
According to the NTB release, tourist buses are plying on the major highways connecting important tourist destinations like Pokhara, Chitwan, Lumbini etc in a normal way. The release also said that all tourist buses left Pokhara for Kathmandu as scheduled and reached Kathmandu on time.
Quoting a British couple, Mr. and Mrs. Richardson, who arrived in Kathmandu from Pokhara on Sunday by a tourist coach, the release said tourists were facing no problem on the way to Kathmandu.
The NTB has also informed that the Tourism Crisis Response Action Unit at NTB is active 24/7 in order to help tourists. The release said that tourists could contact NTB staff at mobile numbers 9851087744 and 9851077385 should they have any queries
