Trekking season begins in Nepal
Sunday - 27th February 2005 |
As reported by the concerned authority, vehicular mobility throughout the kingdom has been geared up. Everything is running in normalcy. The tourist coach operators told NTB Media Center that their buses are heading towards their destinations without any hassle. Nepal's premier tourist coach operator Greenline Tours reported that their buses left for Pokhara today as per schedule.
Our Pokhara Office reported that tourists are enjoying the every bit of Pokhara including pristine view of Fishtail Peak, boating at serene Phewa Lake and short trek to Sarangkot. It also reported that many trekkers are now in Pokhara getting ready for Annapurna Trek which starts from Nayapool and Begnas.
The tourism history of Nepal has proved that no untoward incident has taken place aiming at the tourists. His Majesty's Government has also assured the industry that it will not leave any stone unturned at any stage to provide appropriate facility and necessary support to make the stay of tourists memorable. Moreover, it is specially advised to book holiday tours in Nepal through registered travel/tour operators.
To effectively respond the problems tourists and tourism entrepreneurs in Nepal and abroad may come across, Nepal Tourism Board has taken a holistic approach to address these problems by running its Media Center 24 hours which is manned by efficient staff effective from February 23, 2005. The Center is supported by Crisis Response Action Unit already established to facilitate the tourists. In order to better facilitate tourists and tourism entrepreneurs, the Nepal Tourism Board has strengthened Media Centre with extra manpower and Direct Hotline Number to respond the queries and to take necessary initiatives for prompt action. The staff on duty is available at Direct Hotline Number 977-1-4225709 round the clock. Inquiry can be made through fax or email at 977-1-4254298 or mediacenter@ntb.org.np.
