Birds in Nepal launched

Birds in Nepal, a comprehensive book on species of birds found in Nepal published by R K Shrestha, Director of Central Zoo has recently been released in Kathmandu. The book in Nepali is the first of its kind in the country, and gathers maximum information on the varieties of birds found in Nepal, according to the publisher. The book was originally written by Richard Grimmett, Carol Inskipp and Tim Inskipp and was published in 2001.
The book was translated by Dr Hem Sagar Baral into Nepali for the benefit of maximum number of people who enjoy watching birds. "The book will be distributed free of cost to various schools, colleges and libraries within the Valley in order to provide information on the birds of Nepal", said Hari Chandra Rai, the programme organiser.
