Nepal Trade and Tourism Fair to be held in LondonSaturday - 23rd July 2005 |
| Nepal Trade and Tourism Fair (NTTF) 2005 is to be held in London during 18-19 November so as to coincide with the World Travel Mart (WTM)one of the biggest travel events of the world. According to Friends of Britain and Nepal, Nepal Tourism Organisation (FBNNTO), the organiser of the Fair, the event dubbed as what would be the biggest exhibitions on Nepal ever held in the UK-aims to showcase Nepal as a `happening destination’ for all seasons and for all purposes. The Fair also aims to attract new investment opportunities in the country and promote Nepali goods and products in Europe, said Rajaram Giri, general secretary of the FBNNTO and main coordinator of the Fair. Addressing the interaction programme on July 15, Chief Executive Officer of the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), Tek Bahadur Dangi, said that the Fair would help attract more European tourists to Nepal at a time there have been decline in their arrivals. President of Nepal-Britain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NBCCI), Rajendra Kumar Khetan, said it is the first time that such a fair was being organised in UK where both Nepali tourism and trade entrepreneurs will join hands to promote Nepal as a unique tourist destination and exhibit Nepal’s unique products and services in the international market. To prepare for the NTTF, an organising committee has been constituted in Nepal under the chairmanship of Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation. Other members of the organising committee include Rajendra Khetan (NBCCI), Prakash Shrestha, first VP Hotel Association Nepal (HAN), Joy Dewan, Zenith Group of Companies and Kiran Chitrakar (Nepal Television). |
