Workshop for strategic and operational plan of STN organized

With the objective to broaden the roles of Sustainable Tourism Network (STN) and to strengthen it's effectiveness in future, STN organized the final workshop on the development of "Strategic and Operational Plan of STN for the year 2005-2007 " on August 15, 2005 in Kathmandu. Presentations were made on the topics such as: vision, mission, objectives and values of STN, operational guidelines, members' motivation, commitment and mobilization, sustainability of STN and areas of interest, marketing of sustainable tourism products and international memberships.

Sustainable Tourism Network (STN), an umbrella network of INGOs, NGOs, Tourism Private Sectors, Educational Institutes, and Individuals as members and operating within Nepal Tourism Board has been a sharing platform for all the stakeholders working for the sustainable tourism development of Nepal for past seven years. The workshop was supported technically and financially by NTB and SNV-Nepal.

Mr. Subash Nirola, Chief Co-ordinator of STN welcomed all the participants of the workshop. The workshop was facilitated by Mr. Tej Raj Dahal, PME Advisor, SNV-Nepal, Ms Birgit Leinhart, Tourism Research Consultant, SNV-Nepal, Mr. Lila Bahadur Baniya, Manager, NTB and Mr. Wilson Sharma, Officer, NTB
