| f you decide to take a trip to Nepal: • Consider using an established outfitter (such as Wilderness Travel, Mountain Travel Sobek, Country Walkers, Geographic Expeditions). They have local contacts in Nepal and can quickly arrange to pull out of the region if signs of unrest reappear. • Avoid demonstrations and large gatherings throughout Nepal, as they could turn violent. A list of planned demonstrations can be found on the Web site of the U.S. Embassy in Nepal, • Stay away from the southeastern Terai region, where violent demonstrations in January and February resulted in deaths and injuries. |
