NATTA welcomes Bill proposed to ban bandhTuesday - 06th March 2007 |
| The Special Meeting of the Nepal Association of Tours and Travel Agents (NATTA) held yesterday has welcomed the Bill proposed by the Government of Nepal to ban bandhas called by various political parties. In a press statement, the association has hailed the provision of the Bill which prohibits acts of vandalism during political protests causing damages to public and individual property and require the political parties to pay compensation to the aggrieved parties if found responsible for bandh programmes. Referring to decline in tourist arrivals because of frequent bandhas and chakka jams in the country, the meeting of the NATA has called on political parties to show their commitment to promote this prospective sector in order to keep the national economy in good shape. |
