China Southern increases flights to NepalSunday - 26th August 2007 |
| China Southern Airlines, China’s largest airlines in terms of fleet size, is increasing its frequency of flights to three flights from present two flights-a-week on Guangzhou-Kathmandu-Guangzhou route from September 5. It is also using 200-seater Boeing 757 aircraft instead of Airbus A 319 on this sector. It began its regular direct flights between Guangzhou — one of the largest trading hub of China and Kathmandu with two flights a week on Mondays and Fridays from February 5. “The new flights will address increased demand and better connectivity during peak season,” Aasha Ram Tandukar, chief executive of Gorkha Travels, the sole authorised agent of the airlines in Nepal said adding that it has already brought in more than 3,000 Chinese tourists. |
