Media Challenge Rafting in BagmatiTuesday - 19th August 2008 |
| Food & Fun Yatra, a television programme, won the Media Challenge Rafting Championship organized on August 16, 2008. The championship was a part of Bagmati Shanti Festival 2065 jointly organized by Nepal Association of Rafting Agents (NARA) and high-level Bagmati Civilisation Integrated Development Committee. Similarly, a team of Sagarmatha Television and Nepal Traveller Publications finished first and second runner-ups respectively. A total of 12 teams representing different media houses had participated in the event organised to generate awareness about the preservation of Bagmati River and Bagmati Civilisation. The 7.5km rafting championship started from Sundarijal and ended in Gokarna. Locals at the either sides of Bagmati River cheered the rafting teams that were participated in the rain-swelled Bagmati River. NARA president Gopal Kharel handed over trophies and certificates to the winner and runner ups teams. |
